NBA Saturday Primetime on ABC: Warriors-Thunder is Most-Watched NBA Regular-Season Game Since 2013 (non-Christmas)

The Feb. 27 edition of NBA Saturday Primetime on ABC presented by La Quinta – the Golden State Warriors defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder 121-118 in overtime – averaged 5,322,000 viewers (p2+) making it the most-watched NBA regular-season telecast on any network since 2013 (non-Christmas), according to Nielsen. The telecast peaked with 8,065,000 viewers from 11:15-11:30 p.m. ET. The game generated a 3.2 U.S. household rating.

The Warriors-Thunder instant classic also propelled ABC to win the night across all key Male and People demos, including M18-34, M18-49, M25-54, P18-34, P18-49 and P25-54. NBA Saturday Primetime on ABC has won the night across key demos in all four of the franchise’s telecasts.

Golden State’s victory over Oklahoma City is also the second-most streamed NBA regular-season game ever on WatchESPN with a total of 15 million minutes-watched. It generated 306,000 unique viewers and an average minute audience of 84,000, which is second-best and third-best, respectively, for an NBA regular-season game.

NBA Saturday Primetime on ABC will continue on March 5, when the Chicago Bulls host the Houston Rockets, at 8:30 p.m. Mike Breen, analysts Jeff Van Gundy and Mark Jackson and reporter Lisa Salters will provide commentary. NBA Countdown will precede the broadcast at 8 p.m. with Sage Steele, Jalen Rose and Doug Collins.
